“I met Jake through Neil Hauger at Whitetail Properties, who suggested I contact Jake as I’d purchased a small farm from Neil and wanted to maximize the hunting opportunities. I’d been on the land a number of times and have been deer hunting for most of my adult life but knew there was so much more than guessing on strategies and tactics. I talked to Jake a couple of times and was really impressed by his knowledge and enthusiasm. He asked to walk the property and the opportunity to come up with a plan. We then walked the property together and went over Jake’s suggestions. I can’t be complimentary enough about Jake and his plan. Jake’s understanding of deer, terrain, crops, strategies and maximizing the property is astounding. I’m blown away by the specifics of the plan! For example, he gives input on not only stand placement, but when and under what circumstances to hunt each stand. Jake gave a thorough review of the current status of the property, but then gives long and short-term improvements and how to execute them. I’m not sure what the average length of his plans are, but there are over 20 pages of specifics and maps that are annotated and full of information. On top of it all, Jake is available to re-look at a property and offer further ideas and strategies as the conditions evolve. I was a little hesitant at first to work with someone about whitetail management, but I am so glad that Neil suggested Jake’s service and how top-notch the service is.
